"Within the Darkness, Golden Eyes"
Michael Laimo

SOLD OUT

"Within the Darkness, Golden Eyes" is the first story in the "Golden Eyes" trilogy, which begins the agonies of a simple, family-loving doctor who finds himself amidst great troubles, anguished by an evil breed of people living in the woods behind his home. In this first story, the good doctor tells of his first meeting with these golden-eyed beasts, how they came to virtually enslave him through threats of his family's safety, and how they ultimately utilize his knowledge to better their hideous intentions.

This is a handsome, limited/signed edition chapbook designed by Fat Cat Design (same designer of Flesh and Blood, Pirate Writings, the late Into the Darkness, Horror, and not to mention their new line of books) that is 24 pages long, fully illustrated by Keith Minnion, with an introduction from Edo van Belkom and an opening by the author himself.

From the Introduction...

"Within The Darkness, Golden Eyes is all a good horror story should be, because it has everything a good horror story should have. Laimo is able to draw out the tension and suspense until it is almost unbearable..."

Edo van Belkom -- Bram Stoker Award-Winning Author

Praise for "Golden Eyes"

"Laimo takes his time with this story, building layer upon layer of suspense and dread that swells to a surprising and unexpected climax."
Brian Keene, Masters Of Terror

"Within the Darkness, Golden Eyes is tightly written and does leave off at a part that makes the reader wonder what the next installment will be like...A decent showing...I would like to check out the next two parts of the story..."
Brett Savory, Chiaroscuro

"Michael Laimo is a great storyteller who seamlessly describes the scene and tells us of the action that unfolds with a minimal amount of words...Within The Darkness, Golden Eyes is a quick 15-minute read that entertains the mind and taunts the soul."
Matt Hayes, Spicy Green Iguana

"A quietly suspenseful and quite fascinating story of a doctor trapped into serving some odd-nonhuman patients. The story is reasonably complete unto itself, while setting up future installments and is a quality source of chills...check it out!"
