    How It Started Out:

A dark and haunted circus is scary. There is no doubt about it. But to make a 'Carnage Carnival' work, you need evil killer klowns. I decided to make a few out of some common items found around the house and was absolutely *BLOWN AWAY* with how well the results came out!

    How I Did It:

    STEP 1
Remove any excess clothing from your xmas motionette, you may need to use the scissors to cut the clothing off. Also remove all visible staples that were used to attach the clothing to the motionette.

    STEP 2
Unscrew and remove the baseplate. The motionette should be connected to the base with a 'nut and bolt' assembly, unscrew the nuts and separate. Carefully dis-assemble the motionette. You will notice that the pieces are still connected with wire. It may become necessary to cut the wire to physically seperate the pieces. That's ok, we will splice it back together later and that is easy to do. If you cut any wires, make sure it is * AT LEAST TWO OR THREE INCHES * from the end so you have room to splice it back together. Be sure to keep track of all the parts and pieces and make sure to know 'what-goes-where.'

    STEP 3
Place the motionettes torso inside the child's klown costume. At this time, splice back together the power cable to the wires running to the motor. You will need to split the wires into two parts and trim off about a 1/2 inch of insulation off of the ends of all wires.

(There should be four total, two for the power cord and two for the motor.) Then braid one of the power wires to one of the motionette wires and cover with electrical tape.

Repeat for the remaining power wire and motor wire.

    STEP 4
After removing the shoes from the motionette, I spray painted each one a different color. The motionettes legs were much too short for the childs klown costume, so I made some 'stilts' by measuring the length of cloth remaining in the leg of the childs costume, and cutting the PVC pipe to fit. Be sure that the PVC fits into the opening of the shoes but is still large enough to accomodate the motionettes legs. Apply glue to all pieces and attach everything together.

    STEP 4
As you can see in the 'STILTS' picture in STEP 3, the motionettes hands were much too small and looked quite doll like, so once again, I used PVC pipe to extend the motionettes arms to the length of the sleeves of the childs costume. It was necessary to trim off some of the thumb so that the PVC could slide onto the arm. Then take the turned inside-out latex dishwasher glove "hands" and Duct Tape them to the PVC pipe "arms".

    STEP 5
Using colored magic markers, draw an evil klown face on the white styrofoam wig head.

    STEP 5 OPTIONAL
The following is optional, but it goes to show you that there are modifications that can be done to improve the looks of your killer klown. Spoon out the eyes on the white stytofoam wig head and place the eyeball gumballs inside, you may need to glue them in place. If you cant find eyeball gumballs at your local candy store, http://www.BoneyardBargains.com has plastic eyes that you can buy for about $3 a pair. Even better is that they have Glow in the Dark eyes that can be used. When used in conjunction with Glow in the Dark vampire fangs, that combination would truly stand out in a black lit room!

Cut out the mouth area the size of your vampire fangs and color the inside with a black magic marker, afterwards, glue your fangs into place inside the mouth. If you use glow in the dark fangs, your Killer Klown would look best under black light. BUT be sure to check which colored magic markers work best under blacklight first to give you the desired effects that you are seeking!

NOTE: This step can be VERY messy, so do outdoors where *THOUSANDS* of tiny, tiny styrofoam beads can be swept up with a minimum of fuss and mess.

Add a clown wig to the white styrofoam head, you may want to use a glue gun to permanently attach the wig to the head. Here are the two different types of heads, side by side to compare.

    STEP 6
The white styrofoam wig head had too much of a 'neck', so I used a saw and cut it off.

NOTE: This step can be VERY messy, so do outdoors where *THOUSANDS* of tiny, tiny styrofoam beads can be swept up with a minimum of fuss and mess.

Attach the white styrofoam head to the neck stump of the motionette, (I used a Hot Glue from a Glue Gun.)

CONGRATULATIONS! Your done and killer klown is ready to hang out and party!

NOTE: Using a small childs klown costume,
but using an adult sized styrofoam head
    and adult sized hands
makes for a good 'evil dwarf' killer klown look.
(See the klown in the above pic!)
