Samhain Slasher

Samhain Slasher
For the frame of the psycho, we used scrap lumber cut roughly into a human shape and the various pieces screwed together. I covered the frame in a one piece jumpsuit picked up at Goodwill. (A one piece jumpsuit can cover a multitude of sloppy construction sins.) The gloves were also picked up from Goodwill.

For the animatronic motor, we used the windshield wiper motor from a '79 Volvo. (The windshield wiper motor was something that was just taking up space in my dad's garage.) The motor was mounted to the side of the lumber so that the windshield wiper arm looks like the psycho's arm.

The arm of the Samhain Slasher is the actual windshield wiper blade, I placed the glove around the end of the wiper arm and using needle and thread, sewed the glove to the sleeve and sewed the fingers around the sickel handle. The "red bracelet" that you see is actually duct tape used to hold the sickel in place.

The mask was purchased at "SPENCERS" AFTER Halloween.
(Masks and costumes are OVER 1/2 off!! Stock up for next year!!)

I beleive the entire animatronic cost me under $30. What a bargin!

The Animatronic is powered by having the motor attached to an AC/DC converter picked up at radioshack. (This converter costs about $30-$40 by itself, but I dont really figure it into the cost because I use it year round for other projects.)
